Constructing driver-centered HMI user experience evaluation

Combining with non-touch and touch HMI, to construct in the environment of users' increasing demand for automobiles, users need a set of automobile UX evaluation model based on experience and engineering standardization. However, the existing evaluation of the automobile mostly stays at the subjective level and lacks the unified standard and dimensionality. According to iterative agile research, removing the force majeure factors, such as car brand, a quantitative UX evaluation model which fits the vertical industry attribute of the automobile will be constructed. Meanwhile, based on the model, the user experience evaluation of automobile HMI system will be carried out. 

Three automobile data recorders will shoot the road, the central control interface and the driver to obtain information about HMI operation. The newest HMI system of the three most representative flagship cars on the market at present is selected.

For the entertainment feature, Mercedes-Benz are better than Tesla and Audi in the various dimensionality of the indicators. Tesla's driving safety is significantly lower than Mercedes-Benz and Audi. 


Entertainment function analysis:

The Mercedes-Benz entertainment module buttons are concentrated in the center of the console, which is easy to identify. The button position has good man-machine ergonomics, and the user is easier to operate while driving.

The overall interfacial button layout of entertainment module of Audi is relatively dense, which makes the users take more time to identify and operate the fast button. Tesla's interface layout is also clear, but the distance of volume interface and player interface is too large.
